about

Welcome to the new single from Son Parapluie. This time the featured vocalist is Armelle Pioline (Holden, Superbravo). As always, the music is by Jérôme Didelot of Orwell who collaborated on the lyrics with Ms. Pioline. The cover image was created exclusively for this release by noted French cartoonist and illustrator Charles Berberian.

lyrics

Soldat de plomb, pâle figurine
Sous tes galons, un corps s’anime
Dès le clairon dans ta cabane
Tu te demandes où est ton âme

Les guerres te libèrent
Pourquoi ?
Alors que la paix devrait te plaire
En soi
Les guerres me sidèrent
Tu vois
on n’est pas obligé de s’y faire

Ami, ennemi
Quel est celui
Qui brisera ses chaines ?

Ami, ennemi

Pourquoi ?
Alors que la paix devrait te plaire
En soi
Est ce que tu es fier
De toi
Quand tu me vois faire marche arrière ?

Ami, ennemi
Quel est celui
Qui brisera ses chaines ?

Ami, ennemi
Même s’il ne nuit
La nuit qu’à lui-même

Isobel Campbell is the featured vocalist and Sugar Me from Japan sings on one song. Remixes by Jah Wobble, Martin Carr and Yann Arnaud round out this record. The artwork is by noted French artist Charles Berberian. ... more
